The Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels organised an auspicious ceremony to receive the royally bestowed buddha statue
Her Excellency Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, and her spouse, diplomats and Team Thailand’s officials participated in the auspicious ceremony to receive the Buddha statue bestowed upon the embassy by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, before the portrait of Her Royal Highness at the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels.
The buddha statue is a 20-inch-tall, 10-kilogram metal Buddha statue in the "Leela" (walking) pose. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over its consecration ceremony at the ordination hall of Wat Suthatthepwararam on 22 July 2023. Her Royal Highness graciously bestowed these statues upon various Thai institutions in Thailand and overseas, with the noble intention of bringing auspiciousness, happiness and well-being as well as prosperity to our nation, religions, the Monarchy, the Thai people and the people of the world.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels humbly expresses its deepest gratitude for this immeasurable royal grace and is profoundly honoured and overjoyed on this auspicious occasion. May the blessings of the Buddha statue protect the Thai communities in Belgium and Luxembourg, bringing them happiness and prosperity always.
Those who wish to pay homage to the Buddha statue can do so at the Consular Section of the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels during the Embassy’s office hours during the whole month of April.
