On 23 October 2025, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, led the officials and spouses, as well as staffs of the Team Thailand in Brussels, in the garland offering ceremony in remembrance of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, at the Royal Thai Embassy.

 

His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) was the great grandfather of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (King Rama X). Known as the prime mover who laid foundation of modern-day Thailand, His Majesty King Chulalongkorn visited the Kingdom of Belgium during his first visit to Europe in 1897 - considered the first-ever visit of a Thai monarch to the European Continent. He later visited Belgium again in 1907.
