To mark the passing of King Rama IX on 13 October (2016) and King Rama V on 23 October (1910), on 17 October 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy together with Team Thailand in Brussels presented cash and in-kind donation totaling EUR 1,300 to the Société Royale Protectrice des Animaux Veeweyde (SRPA Veeweyde), represented by Ms. Noémie Sion, Director of SRPA Veeweyde. The team also observed animal caretaking activities and visited rescued pets in the shelter (dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, goats and sheep). Both King Rama IX and King Rama V were known as true animal lovers; that was why the Embassy chose the shelter for animals for this merit making activity.
Founded in 1908, the SRPA Veeweyde has expansive activities across its shelters in many cities in Belgium. It is committed to rescuing and taking care of pets which have been abandoned or maltreated by previous owners using experts' know-how, before handing them over to those who have completed the legal procedures for adoption. We invite animal lovers who may wish to adopt new pets, donate or support SRPA Veeweyde's activities to contact them via Facebook
