The delegation, led by Major General Panupong Suwannus, Advisor to the College, was received by Mrs. Nadariya Nopakun Phromyothi, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission, who accompanied them to EEAS for a briefing by Mr. Stijn Mols, Head of Strategy, Coordination and Policy Division, on the development of European security and defence policy, regional challenges, and the EU’s security and defence industrial strategy.
Later, Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke welcomed the delegation to NATO, where Lieutenant Colonel Garry Pinchen, Section Head, Cooperative Security Division, International Military Staff, Mr. Damien Arnuad, Programme Officer, Engagements Section, Public Policy Division, and Mr. Johan Alvin, Political Affairs Officer, Political Affairs and Security Policy Division provided briefings on NATO’s evolving structure, current regional security dynamics, and partnerships with non-NATO countries.
The delegation actively exchanged views on regional and global security issues and discussed opportunities for future cooperation, including establishing contacts between Thai defence agencies and NATO, and participation in NATO military courses and trainings. This visit also represented an important milestone in engagement between Thailand and NATO.
