Team Thailand of the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels/Mission of Thailand to the European Union met with the Coalition on Sustainable Timber
On 29 May 2024, Team Thailand of the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels/Mission of Thailand to the European Union, comprising Mr. Pornthep Sritanatorn, Minister (Agricultural Affairs), Office of Agricultural Affairs, Ms. Siribhusaya Ungphakorn, Minister (Commercial Affairs), Office of Commercial Affairs, Ms. Vanassuda Sudhidhanee, Minister Counsellor, and members of Team Thailand met with Mr. Yong Teng Koon, Chairman of the Coalition on Sustainable Timber, and the delegation.
The Coalition on Sustainable Timber was established in 2023 to support the development of fair and balanced legislation on timber trade, including its implementation and support on compliance. Both sides seek to further cooperate to address concerns on the implementation of the EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR) that has negative impacts especially on smallholders.
