          On 29 May 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Belgium together with Ms. Warunee Pan-krajang, Minister at the Royal Thai Embassy, and Ms. Siribhusaya Ungphakorn, Minister at the Office of Commercial Affairs in Brussels, together with officials from both the Embassy and Office of Commercial Affairs welcomed a delegation from the Standing Committee on Economic Development, House of Representatives of Thailand, during their study visit to Belgium and Germany.
          The delegation was briefed on overall bilateral relations and trade relations between Thailand and the European Union, as well as the relevant EU legislation. Views and suggestions to expand opportunities in bilateral trade, and to promote value-added products through innovation and green supply chains were also discussed.
          During their visit to Belgium, the delegation also met with (1) Ms. Caroline Edery, Head of Unit, Bilateral Relations, Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA); (2) Mr. Peteris Ustubs, Director for Asia, Central Asia, Pacific and Middle East, Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA); (3) Ms. Inge Bernaerts, Director for Strategy and Policy, Directorate-General for Competition; (4) Mr. Lars Nieder, Head of Delegation for Development Cooperation, Permanent Representation of Germany to the EU; (5) Mr. Reinhold Elges, Director of GIZ Representation to Brussels. The delegation also visited the European Parliament.
