Study in Belgium 2024: Orientation for the New Students of Academic Year 2024-2025
On 20 June 2024, Thai-Belgium Alumni Association (TBAG) organised an online orientation for Thai students planning to study in Belgium in the academic years 2024-2025. H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Thai Ambassador to Belgium, and H.E. Ms. Sibille de Cartier d’Yves, Belgium Ambassador to Thailand, gave opening remarks. The officers of the Belgian Embassy in Bangkok as well as Thai alumni also shared their experiences and knowledge on the education systems and their lives in Belgium.
There are 11 universities in Belgium -- 6 in Wallonia and 5 in Flanders. All of them also provide Master’s Degree in English in different fields of study. Most of the Belgian universities, especially in Flanders, are specialised in science and technology. The Belgian universities are best known for their excellence in research and strong connection with both public and private sectors as well as providing foreign students with search year opportunity after graduation. Belgium also provides financial assistance for foreign students, which comes from various sources such as regional governments, universities, and the EU namely the Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
