The Ambassador and Team Thailand met with the top executives of Charoen Pokphand Food Europe (CPF Europe)
On 25 June 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, Ambassador’s spouse, Ms. Siribusaya Ungphakorn, Minister of Commercial Affairs, as well as Embassy and Team Thailand diplomats, met with Mr. De-Yi Shih, Chairman of CPF Europe, and the senior management team, namely Mr. Di-Ting Shih, President, Mr. Suwapat Akarasawamek, Assistant Vice President, at and Ms. Suchada Chakkot, Finance Director, at the CPF Europe office in Waterloo, Belgium.
They discussed CPF’s operation in Belgium which focuses on import of agricultural products, primarily poultry (raw and cooked meat), production and distribution (wholesale and retail) of CPF products, primarily ready-to-eat food/ meals, to supermarkets and restaurants. CPF Europe is also the primary supplier of ready-to-eat food for European airlines for onboard consumption.
Issues being discussed include CPF’s experiences of doing business in Europe, business expansion plans as well as views on Thailand-EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations.
CPF invested in Belgium since 1979 and CPF Europe was incorporated in 2002.
