           On 22 October 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, led the wreath-laying ceremony on the occasion of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Day on 23 October 2024 at the Embassy’s chancery. Ambassador’s spouse, officials and staff of the Embassy and offices of Team Thailand in Brussels also attended the ceremony.
His Majesty King Chulalongkorn The Great or King Rama V of Thailand was known as “Phra Piyamaharaj” which means the King who is greatly beloved by all people, and best known for his countless initiatives and reforms to modernise the country, including the abolition of slavery, promoting education, modernising state structure, as well as laying down transportation infrastructure in Thailand. His Majesty King Rama V visited Europe, including Belgium, twice in 1897 and 1907.
