On 27 October 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium and spouse, H.E. Mr. Tej Bunnag and spouse, and officers and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels and Offices of Team Thailand in Brussels and their families attended the Buddhist Kathina ceremony at Wat Buddharama, Sint Niklaas, Belgium. The Buddhist ceremony was led by Phra Raja Visuddhivides, the Abbot of Wat Thai Dhammaram, Belgium and senior monks from different Thai temples in Sweden, the Netherlands and Thailand.
           In the morning, the Royal Thai Embassy offered talipot fans, specially made on the occasion of the 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King Rama X, to the monks. Temple goers also offered alms to the monks. In the afternoon, the participants joined in offering the robes to the monks.
           Tomorrow (28 October), there will be a Buddhist ceremony celebrating the new Buddha statue of Wat Buddharama. The ceremony will be presided over by His Holiness Somdej Phra Maha Theerachan, Board Member of the Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand, President of the Regulatory Office for Overseas Dhammaduta Bhikkhus, and Abbot of Chetuphon Vimonmangklaram Rajwaramahawihan Temple (Wat Pho).
