Ambassador of Thailand welcomed the Director of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) Office in Frankfurt
On 11 June 2024, H.E. Ms. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, and Mr. Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, Ambassador’s spouse, Ms. Siribhusaya Ungphakorn, Minister for Commercial Affairs, as well as Embassy and Team Thailand diplomats met with Ms. Sanlaya Aksharamat, Director of the BOI Office in Frankfurt, Mr. Sieb Hoogstra, BOI’s Representative in Brussels and Ms. Junlada Siroros, Assistant to the Director.
Views on ways to expand investment from Belgian and Luxembourg in Thailand to implement Thailand’s active trade and investment policy were discussed. For Belgium, potential sectors include green and circular economy, pharmaceuticals and food innovation. For Luxembourg, potential areas include green finance, financial technology and logistics. In this regard, BOI’s work plan/investment promotion activities for 2024 in Belgium and Luxembourg include organising of the 10th Thai-Belgian Business Forum in Brussels scheduled in September 2024 and an investment seminar in Luxembourg later this year.
The BOI Office in Frankfurt is responsible for promoting investment with 9 countries, namely Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary.
