The Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels Participated in the Amazing Asia Festival Leuven
On 5-7 July 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy, Brussels, in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) office in Paris and Thai Airways, organised “Thailand’s booth” to showcase Thailand at the Amazing Asia Festival Leuven, organised by Mahanakhon (VZW) company, at the King Power Den Dreef Stadium in Leuven. On this occasion, on 6 July 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, together with Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, Spouse of Ambassador, and the Embassy team, participated in the event which was dedicated to “Thailand and Friends Day”. H.E. Ambassador presided over the opening ceremony and together with Mr. Bert Cornillie, Alderman of Leuven commune, responsible for culture, tourism, and events, and Mrs. Katrien Depauw, District Sales Manager for Belgium and Luxembourg of Thai Airways, gave opening remarks. Around 10,000 participants joined the event during this three-day event.
The Festival featured Asian cultural performances, for example Indonesian traditional dances, traditional Korean fan dance, K-Pop dance cover and Thai and western music. It also featured many stalls selling various Asian street food, drinks and products, such as from Thailand, Indonesia, India, Japan and South Korea, as well as a tent for event goers to experience traditional Thai massage.
At Thailand’s booth, interested event goers who have been and are interested to travel to Thailand took a quiz by choosing a photo of travel destinations in Thailand and answering where it is. The winners received giveaway prizes, including Thai cooking ingredients from Blue Elephant. Representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy also answered questions on consular matters as well as promoted and provided information on the resumption direct daily flights between Bangkok-Brussels by Thai Airways starting from 1 December 2024.
