On 24 June 2025, the Mission of Thailand to the EU and the European External Action Service (EEAS) co-hosted a Dhamma talk titled “Finding Peace in a Turbulent World” by Ajahn Brahmali, a Norwegian Buddhist monk from the Buddhist Society of Western Australia.
The talk, held at the EEAS headquarters in Brussels, also included a guided meditation session.
Attendants include Venerable Bhikkhuni Vimala, European Union officials, diplomats, and members of Inzicht Meditatie Antwerpen. The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on Buddhist perspectives on inner peace, with insights that are not only valuable for personal spiritual development, but also applicable to professional and work-related contexts especially in the evolving geopolitical environments.
Ajahn Brahmali was ordained in 1996 and has since resided at Bodhinyana Monastery in Western Australia. Known for his expertise in the Pali language and deep understanding of the Suttas, he has contributed significantly to the English translation of the Pali Canon, a project initiated by Bhikkhu Bodhi. He is also the author of several books and essays that make core Buddhist teachings accessible to a broad range of audiences.
