On 20 August 2023 at 14.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, delivered welcoming remarks at the online event of “Study in Belgium 2023: Orientation for the New Students of Academic Year 2023-2024”. The Ambassador highlighted the academic opportunity for Thai students to open up their mindsets and learn about emerging global issues such as environmental measures implemented by the European Union and innovative sustainability. He hoped that Thai students will apply, adopt and adjust the gained knowledge with working culture in Thailand. Networking with professors and fellow scholars as well as enjoying their lives and travelling in Europe are also the benefit of studying in Belgium. In the same event, Mr. Pathompong Singthong, consular officer of the Embassy, also briefed on the role of the Embassy in taking care of Thai students in Belgium.

The student orientation was organised by the Thai-Belgium Alumni Group (TBAG). The speakers of the event included the Belgian Ambassador to Thailand, the Belgian Consul in Bangkok, representatives from the Thai Student Association in Belgium (TSAB). Nearly 40 students participated in this virtual event.
