On 16 September 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels facilitated the participation of Mr. Maarten Uyttebroek and Ms. Inge Dirinck, Innovation Managers of Flanders’ FOOD, in the Global Collaboration for the Future of Thai Food and Agriculture, organized by the Thailand Management Association (TMA), in cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy and Flanders’ FOOD Belgium.
On this occasion, representatives from Flanders’ FOOD delivered a presentation on “Global Food Innovation Partnerships: Flanders’ FOOD Initiative and Project highlight: taste and SENSTECH”, sharing expertise in global food innovation and partnerships to strengthen sustainability and Belgium’s competitiveness. During the event, TMA also launched the TMA Agri-Food Community, which serves as a collaborative platform that brings together key stakeholders across Thailand’s agri-food value chain, to create a food and agri-ecosystem to promote long-term collaboration. Over 50 participants, including Belgian Ambassador to Thailand Michel Parys, representatives from Thai government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions, joined to exchange knowledge and best practices. The event underscored Thailand’s potential to become a hub for innovative and sustainable food production.
Flanders’ FOOD, established in 2005, is a leading agri-food innovation cluster in the Flemish Region of Belgium. As a spearhead cluster, it plays an important role in connecting food producers with universities and research institutes to develop production technologies, nutritional innovations, sustainability solutions, and food safety standards.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels reaffirms its commitment to enhance innovation and competitiveness in Thailand’s food and agriculture industry through building partnerships with Belgian actors in the industry. The Royal Thai Embassy is pleased to work with Flanders’ FOOD along this journey.
