On 28 September 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels, accredited to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, organised for the first time the Thai Festival in Luxembourg at Centre multifonctionnel CELO in Hesperange.
Through collective effort by all parties, the Festival ended with a great success. Around 2,000 festival-goers, including Thais, Luxembourgers, foreigners, joined the event throughout the day to discover Thailand in many aspects.
The Embassy wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the Thai community in Luxembourg. Special thanks to Wat Thai Buddharam Luxembourg Association, all participating Thai restaurants in Belgium and Luxembourg, participating Thai grocery shops, Thai massage in Luxembourg, Team Thailand in Brussels, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Moradokmai Theatre Community and Homeschool from Thailand, Kai Kaew Karn Lakorn performers from Thailand, Ms. Wilanda Booma, young traditional Thai dancer from the Netherlands, Muay Thai boxers from Soko Training Center Luxembourg led by coach, Mr. Frank Ruppert, Khun Boom and Khun Rof, our MC duo, MC Peak who spiced up the Som Tam competition, Thai-Luxembourgish kids who took up the stage to entertain festival goers during intervals, and everyone who had supported the organisation of the Thai Festival.
Ms. Daniela Anderlini, Representative of Office of the Mayor of Hesperange, responsible for culture and education, gave opening remarks on behalf of Mr. Marc Lies, Mayor of Hesperange, and stayed throughout the day to enjoy the Festival.
The Embassy also organised mobile consular services including Thai passport, document and legalisation services and consultations regarding consular related matters for Thai and foreign festival-goers. TAT team from Bangkok and Paris Office demonstrated Thai art workshop and provided tourist information about travel destinations and what to do in Thailand.
Very heartening to know that everyone loves Thailand, Thai culture and, of course, Thai food, and wants to visit Thailand again and again!
