On 22 February 2026, Her Excellency Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, hosted a sewing workshop for the Thai community at her Residence in Brussels, The workshop was led by Mrs. Yaowaree Narin, instructor who undertook sewing and tailoring courses in Thailand, with participation of Ms. Nampeung Pongpaew, Staff at the Thai Residence and Ms. Kasemporn Swatpudza as assistants to the instructor. Around 25 participants took part in the activity.

 

Not only did the workshop serve as an opportunity for Thais to acquire the basics and improve their sewing skills, allowing them to adjust their own clothes without a need to visit professionals, but it also inspired avid learners to hone their sewing skills and thereby continue in their own path towards sewing and tailoring job opportunities. The workshop was also a good opportunity for bonding among Thais in Belgium, thus creating a stronger sense of community.
