On 10 July 2025, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, welcomed Ms. Vasumon Netkijcharoen, President of the Thai Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Association (TEATA), and Ms. Parichat Suntararak, Vice President of TEATA for Community-Based Tourism and Thai Wisdom. Both sides discussed potential collaboration to promote carbon-neutral tourism (CNT) in Thailand and ways to raise awareness of Thailand’s carbon-neutral tourism initiatives in the Khong, Chi, and Mun River Basin provinces (Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen, and Yasothon).

Moreover, on 14 July 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy, led by Mrs. Nadariya Nopakun Phromyothi, Minister, facilitated a meeting between TEATA and the Thai community in Belgium. They exchanged views and comments which were beneficial for TEATA’s undertakings such as preferences of Belgian travellers in terms of travel planning and travel destinations, incorporating sustainability aspects into CNT’s travel itineraries, providing incentives for travellers who usually commute by electronic vehicles or even free train transportation scheme, and ensuring safety and road safety for all travellers in Thailand. The insights from the discussions will serve as food for thought for promoting CNT in Thailand.
