On 9 July 2025, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, along with the Embassy’s diplomats, welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Medicine, KU Leuven, namely Professor Djalila Mekahli, Vice Dean for International Affairs, Ms. Hilde Groenen, Head of the Clerkships Office and International Mobility Unit, and Ms. Inge De Prins, Policy Advisor for PR and External Relations. They exchanged views on possible collaboration on medical science between Thailand and KU Leuven, including exchange of medical students and professional, educational and training programmes and clinical clerkship. The Faculty of Medicine at KU Leuven is part of the Group of Biomedical Sciences, which works closely with University Hospitals Leuven (UZ Leuven).

           The Royal Thai Embassy stands ready to facilitate discussions between relevant Thai institutions and KU Leuven’s Faculty of Medicine to promote continued collaboration between Thailand and Belgium in this field.
