On 1 September 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, her spouse Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, and Ms. Warunee Pan-krajang, Deputy Chief of Mission, attended the merit making ceremony at Wat Thai Dhammaram, Waterloo, Belgium, to mark its 25th anniversary of establishment. Thais, Belgians and other Buddhist practitioners and supporters of the temple joined in the ceremony, reflecting close collaboration and contribution of all parties to the temple during the past 25 years.
          On this occasion, Phra Raja Visuddhivides, the Abbot of Wat Thai Dhammaram presided over the ceremony. พระครูสุพัฒนเขมคุณ then gave a talk, stressing on the importance of undertaking good karma through giving ( dhana), observing precepts ( sila), and training of the mind( bhavana). He elaborated on giving in three aspects, namely giving of materials, sharing of Dharma, and forgiving. By giving, we are actually contributing to peace. Phra Raja Visuddhivides, the Abbot, also provided English translation so that all Belgians and non-Thais who participated could understand the teaching as well.
Throughout these 25 years, Wat Thai Dhammaram has been playing a significant role in guiding the Thai communities and also enhancing interfaith, peace and harmony beyond boundaries of ethnicities and faiths.
