On 4 August 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, together with Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, Ambassador’s spouse, Ms. Warunee Pan-krajang, Deputy Chief of Mission, and Ms. Yajai Bunnag, embassy official, participated in the merit-making ceremony and related activities on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s Birthday on August 12th or Thailand’s Mother’s Day at Wat Thai Dhammaram, Waterloo, Belgium.
Ambassador led the participants in paying homage and well wishes to Her Majesty. Phra Raja Visuddhivides, the Abbot of Wat Thai Dhammaram presided over the Buddhist ceremony. Thais, Belgians, Sri Lankans and others living in Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands who attended the ceremony also gathered to present offerings to Buddhist monks on the occasion of the Queen Mother’s Birthday.
Today at the ceremony, we were reminded to do good as the best way to express gratitude to our parents. Everyday is Mother’s Day.
