Ambassador met with the Chair and Vice Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade

On 4 December 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to the EU, together with Ms. Siribhusaya Ungphakorn, Minister (Commerce), and embassy staff, met with Mr. Bernd Lange, Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade (INTA) and Ms. Kathleen Van Brempt, Vice Chair of INTA and Standing Rapporteur for Thailand, at the European Parliament in Brussels.

They discussed the outcomes of INTA’s Mission to Thailand in December 2023, which took place after the resumption of Thailand-EU FTA negotiations in March. They also commended the progress made in the 4th round of the Thailand-EU FTA negotiations during 25 – 29 November 2024 in Bangkok.

The Ambassador highlighted Thailand’s efforts to advance human rights, including business and human rights and implementing measures to protect the rights and welfare of migrant workers. The Ambassador also emphasized Thailand’s commitment to sustainable development, transparency and good governance.

INTA reaffirmed the significance of ASEAN and Thailand as key partners, expressing support aimed at facilitating trade and fostering deeper collaboration on the green transition.
