H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Belgium, visited 4 Team Thailand offices based in Brussels, namely the Office of Commercial Affairs in Brussels on 16 April 2024, the Office of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in Brussels on 17 April 2024, the Office of Agricultural Affairs in Brussels (on the same day), and the Office of Customs Affairs in Brussels on 19 April 2024, to introduce herself upon starting of her tour of duty and get to know members of each Office. The Ambassador-Designate was briefed on the areas of responsibility and work plan of each Office, including facilitating the negotiation of the Thailand-EU FTA; equipping Thai producers with practical and useful information regarding EU trade and environmental regulations such as Carbon Border Adjustment Measures (CBAM) and Regulation on Deforestation Free Products (EUDR); monitoring the EU’s import and export regulations on agricultural and food products and promoting market access; leveraging the EU’s knowledge and innovation that can be applied for Thailand’s competitiveness; and cooperation on customs matters within the scope of the World Customs Organisation (WCO). The Ambassador-Designate and Team Thailand in Brussels stressed their readiness to strengthen Team Thailand in their undertakings.
