Ambassador-designate of Thailand paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Vietnam to Belgium

On 22 April 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador-designate of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Nguyen Van Thao, Ambassador of Vietnam to Belgium, on the occasion of her assumption of duty. Both sides stand ready to strengthen ASEAN relations with Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union.

The Vietnamese – EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was signed in 2019 and entered into force while Thailand and the EU are currently negotiating the FTA. The third round of negotiations is scheduled to take place in June 2024 in Brussels.
