During 2-4 July 2024, the Embassy welcomed Moradokmai Theatre Troupe, a group of talented young musicians and artists who are trained by Kru Chang – Mr. Janaprakal Chandruang, Thailand’s 2019 national artist, to perform in Belgium, including at Technisch Atheneum Keerbergen music camp, LDC ’t Koetshuis Elderly Daycare Centre, and Elderly Residence Queen Fabiola. The group also performed at the Embassy’s Thailand Open House Reception on 3 July and conducted street performances at Place de la Monnaie in the heart of Brussels on 2 and 4 July.
Moradokmai Theatre Community and Homeschool was founded in 2005 by Kru Chang - Mr. Janaprakal Chandruang as a non-profit organisation in Thailand under Kamut Chandruang Foundation. The school is now training 35 students from all walks of life to perform Thai classical dance, Thai classical music, jazz, blues, raps, hip-hop, as well as Thai and contemporary theatre. Currently, these young artists are travelling in Europe to show their talents.
We are proud to have Moradokmai Theatre Troupe visiting Belgium and hope to welcome them again.
