On 3 April 2025, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador, signed the Book of Condolences at the Lao Embassy in Brussels, to express heartfelt condolences on the passing of H.E. General Khamtay SIPHANDONE, Former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, and Former President of The Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on 2 April 2025. He was 102 years old. H.E. Mr. Kingphokeo PHOMMAHAXAY, Ambassador of Lao PDR received Ambassador Kanchana at the Lao Embassy.

Relations between Thailand and Lao PDR have always been very close and cordial at all levels, and the two countries have been cooperating in numerous areas, including in the trilateral development cooperation between Thailand, Lao PDR, and Luxembourg.
