Buddhist Ceremony and Paying Homage Ceremony on the Occasion of the 72nd Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King of Thailand (28th July 2024)
On 26 July 2024, the Embassy organised a Buddhist ceremony and paying homage ceremony on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024. The Embassy humbly invited 9 Thai monks in Belgium and Luxembourg including the Abbots of Wat Thai Dhammaram, Wat Buddharam Belgium, Wat Dhammaprateep, and Wat Thai Dhammarama Luxembourg, and other 5 monks who came from Thailand to stay at the Thai temples in Belgium during the Buddhist Lent period. The Ambassador led the participants in praying alms-offering for H.M. the King’s health and happiness, and the Monks gave blessings.
At the Paying Homage Ceremony, H.E. Ambassador led prayer for H.M. the King. The participants took the oath to be good civil servants and loyal subjects, then light the candles and sing the Royal Anthem and a praising song in respect of H.M. the King. The ceremonies were attended by 30 people, including the officials and staffs of the Embassy and Thai authorities in Brussels as well as the Thai community in Belgium and Luxembourg.
