Thank-You Luncheon for the Embassy’s Volunteer Consuls
On 25 January 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels hosted a luncheon on the occasion of New Year for the Embassy’s volunteer consuls to thank them for their dedication in supporting Thai nationals in Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as their active participation in the Embassy’s events and activities. The event, held at the Ambassador’s Residence, brought together volunteer consuls, embassy officials, and staff to strengthen collaboration and discuss ways to raise awareness about the roles of volunteer consuls across Belgium and Luxembourg.
Her Excellency Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium and Luxembourg, introduced newly appointed embassy officials and shared the Embassy’s consular plans for 2025. These include training programs to enhance skills of volunteer consuls, mobile consular services in 2025, and initiatives to improve public understanding of civil and family registration procedures.
The network of volunteer consuls was established in 2024 to work closely with the Embassy in assisting and supporting Thai communities in Belgium and Luxembourg. This initiative reflects the Thai government’s commitment to ensuring that all Thai nationals, whether at home or abroad, can live their lives with dignity, happiness, and a good quality of life.
Since then, 26 Thai nationals have joined the network. The first in-person meeting took place on 28 July 2024, followed by an online session on 22 November 2024.
The Royal Thai Embassy sincerely appreciates the dedication of all volunteer consuls and looks forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration.
