On 7 September 2025, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium, opened a new semester ( 2025/2026 ) of the Thai Language and Culture Class for Thai/Belgian children at the Royal Thai Embassy, Brussels. It is in continuation of the Embassy's project which lasted from January - June 2025, with 19 Thai/Belgian students participating. This semester saw in total 33 student registrations, marking an increase of over 40 percent compared to the last semester.

The Ambassador highlighted the importance of learning Thai language and culture for Thai/Belgian children, because it allows them to understand and proudly embrace the cultural roots of their parents, and appreciate their unique Thai and Belgian identity. The classes also allow Thai-Belgian children to make friends and grow up as part of the Thai-Belgian community.

While the classes are initiated and supported by the Royal Thai Embassy, they are mainly run by Thai volunteer teachers who are deeply committed to their students. The Embassy feels genuinely grateful for their dedication and commitment.
