On 2 May 2024, H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Belgium, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Masahiro Mikami, Ambassador of Japan to Belgium, on the occasion of her assumption of duty. Both sides welcomed the longstanding ties between Thailand and Japan. They also discussed their respective relations with the Belgium as well as issues in the Indo-Pacific region.
