Moradokmai Theatre Community and Homeschool performed in Belgium and Luxembourg
During late September and beginning of October, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels once again welcomed a group of talented young Thai artists from Moradokmai Theatre Community and Homeschool who travelled to Belgium as part of their Europe tour. The Moradokmai (or the “New Heritage”in Thai) troupe successfully performed at the Thai Festival in Luxembourg, organized by the Embassy on 28 September 2024 in CELO, Hesperange. They also visited schools in Brussels to perform and organized Khon dance and music workshop for students between the age of 9-10 years old, namely the École Européenne de Bruxelles I (EEB I) on 2 October 2024, the Montjoie Institut and Sint Jozef School in Uccle on 3 October 2024.
We are proud that the students were impressed by Thai performing arts and eager to learn Thai musical instruments and Thai Khon dance.
Moradokmai Theatre Community and Homeschool was founded in 2005 by Kru Chang - Mr. Janaprakal Chandruang, Thailand’s National Artist (Drama) in 2019, as a non-profit organisation in Thailand under Kamut Chandruang Foundation. The school is now training 35 students from all walks of life to perform Thai classical dance, Thai classical music, jazz, blues, raps, hip-hop, as well as Thai and contemporary theatre.
