On 3 September 2023, H.E. Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Ambassador of Thailand to Belgium and Luxembourg, and spouse attended the Buddhist ceremony on the auspicious occasion of the 24th Anniversary of the founding of Wat Thai Dhammaram temple in Waterloo, Belgium. At the event, Phra Raja Visuddhivides, the Most Venerable Abbot of the Temple, led over 100 participants, both Thai and Belgian, in prayers and gave blessings. The Ambassador also offered different kinds of Thai food and dessert to the monks and Thai people at the ceremony.

Wat Thai Dhammaram, Belgium, was founded on 19 September 1999. It is the first Thai temple in Belgium and Luxembourg. The Most Venerable Abbot Phra Raja Visuddhivides is currently in charge of the running of the Temple and supervises other 3 monks staying at the Temple. He is the first and only Abbot of the Temple and has served in this position since 23 January 2000. Throughout the year, the Temple organises various religious and cultural activities, including meditation, Thai market on the first and third Sunday of the month, other Buddhist celebrations, and also works with local communities -- Belgian and other countries -- to promote interfaith dialogue and understanding.
