Effective on 15 July 2024, Thailand has introduced two new types of visas as follows:
1. “Non-ED Plus Visa” aims to facilitate international students studying Bachelor’s degree or above in universities in Thailand to exit and re-enter Thailand without having to apply for a re-entry permit before leaving. Foreign students are also allowed to extend their stay in Thailand for 1 year after graduation, to seek employment, travel or participate in other activities, and they are eligible to apply for a new type of visa in Thailand, if employed.
2. “Destination Thai Visa (DTV)” aims to facilitate digital nomads, remoter workers, freelancers and foreigners who wish to work or do activities such as Muay Thai, cooking classes, medical treatment, etc. in Thailand. It allows the applicants to stay in Thailand up to 180 days per entry with multiple times within a period of 5 years.
